Concavity

Concavity is a form exercise and in-depth study of positive and negative space, surface, line speed, and their response to light. The sculpture invites the viewer's gaze to wander throughout the interior and exterior of the cube. The project involved clay studies, form core iterations, and a final plaster cast. Because every iteration was done manually with no computer or 3D modeling, attention to detail and craft was crucial. I learned a lot from the hands-on aspect of this project, and the focus on form.
